Fuck Yeah Stephanie Brown!

I’m going to post up some of my favorite Batgirl covers for you! Now, almost ALL of the covers are my favorite, which is pretty remarkable in a comic series. Stephanie’s series is really lucky in that all the cover artists seem to have a good grasp of aesthetics and the optimistic tone of her adventures.

Phil Noto did a fantastic job—the first few issues looked simply stunning! When I saw this cover, I couldn’t help but suspect that it was Stephanie Brown behind the cowl. (Remember, this was back when no one knew who Batgirl was going to be!) The eggplant undertones, the cheery body language and the sly grin all scream “Steph!” It’s a simply lovely cover.
